What are your travel directions?
We are located at 1498 High Street at Missouri Hwy. 100 in Washington, MO. We're 1.2 miles west on Missouri Highway 100 and Highway 47 intersection. Turn right and then take another immediate right.
What's so special about the museum?
We're one of the few model train museums in the United States. You can bring your engine and run on the large-scale layout if it’s compatible with our system.
What's your oldest train?
Our oldest train is a 1906 wind-up American Flyer-Cast Iron model. We have many additional vintage trains on display and we take great care of them.
Do your trains run?
We run a number of our trains at the museum. Many of them are old and quite rare, therefore, they sit on display. Virtually any one of our trains can run if it is repaired. But in some cases, that would compromise their historical integrity.

They vary seasonally, but generally they are:

How long does it take to go through the museum?
You can walk through the exhibits in about an hour. If you want to run the trains, it takes longer.
Are photographs allowed?

No, visitors are encouraged not to eat inside the museum. We have many great restaurants to try in Washington, MO.
Is the library open to all visitors?
All visitors are welcome. There is no charge if you only want to use the library. Donations are always appreciated. Remember that the library does not lend books. Since its hours do vary, if you plan on serious research, please call ahead.
Is the Museum handicapped accessible?
Yes, the entire facility is handicapped accessible. Feel free to call ahead if you have any questions about this. We want everybody’s visit to be a great experience!
